Snake Charmers

Saturday, we attempted to install the two audio snakes through the PVC conduit under the floor. Unfortunately, we ran into unforeseen problems. By noon we were frustrated and out of time. We did manage to get one snake through, but it was a struggle. Dwight figured out that the problem was not that the connectors were getting caught... but that the friction between the rubber sheath and the PVC was too great over a long run.
Matt suggested we use some water-based lubricant on the second snake.

Mike, Andy, Ryan, Brent and John (not pictured) met Monday night to give it another try. This time we used the lubricant that Matt suggested and it worked like a charm - praise God.

Now that the audio snakes are installed, the audio system installation can begin next week after the electrical power is finished and carpet installed.

Video Projection Test

This morning we (Carl, Mike, Dwight, Ryan) hooked up the video projection to determine if it would work.
Our conclusions were this:
1) Our projector is bright enough... probably. Depends on how bright the ceiling lights are.
2) 10' wide is wide enough. 4:3 aspect ratio will be plenty tall. The top of the screen will be 1 foot higher than in the picture.
3) The screen material we have is sufficient. The text was readable all the way in the back corner, as well as on both sides for a total 90ยบ viewing angle.

This is great news! Now we can proceed with the video system design.

Building Renovation Pictures

Just a few pictures to show the current state of the building.

This is taken in in the back SE corner looking toward the front of the sanctuary. Sorry about the lighting.

Not the best picture in the world, but you can see that the framing for the office area is done.
